Join artist Kirsty Fate for an extra special Christmas workshop where we'll be creating beautiful, handcrafted Christmas decorations using sequins, pins and Styrofoam bases.
This is a much-loved traditional craft technique that I first learnt when I was just 9 years old, so I'm especially excited to share it with a new generation of makers.
With a large selection of materials and embellishments to choose from, children will have plenty of creative freedom to design a unique decoration that is completely their own.
No previous experience is necessary – just a willingness to learn, a little patience and a love of making. Children do need to be comfortable working with pins.
Date: Thursday 17th December 2026
Time: 9am – 12noon
Location: Newmarket State School, K Block, Level 1 Balcony
Cost: $75 per child (includes all materials and morning tea)
Ages: 6–12 years
This workshop is suited to children who enjoy making and creating and are comfortable working independently with guidance.
LIMITED SPACES – ONLY 12 SPOTS AVAILABLE!
All materials, tools, embellishments and supplies needed to create their decorations.
Morning tea, including things like fresh fruit, popcorn and an ice block will be provided. Please let me know about any dietary requirements when booking.
All welcome: You do not need to be a student at Newmarket State School to attend.
Decorations: There will be enough supplies for each child to create as many decorations as they wish within our workshop time. Please keep in mind that this is a fairly time-consuming technique, so children may not finish all their creations during the session. Any unfinished decorations can be taken home, along with the remaining materials, to complete at home.
Drop-off & Collection: Please drop children off at 9am sharp and collect them promptly at 12noon.
Workshop Space: Please note that our workshop takes place on a balcony. Children will be required to remain within our designated workshop space for the duration of the session.
Cancellations by Participants: If you are unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible. If there is a waitlist and your place can be filled, I may be able to offer a refund but only if a replacement booking is secured. If there is no waitlist or your place cannot be filled, refunds will not be provided.
Cancellations by Kirsty: If the workshop needs to be cancelled by Kirsty for any reason, all participants will be notified and a full refund provided.
Multiple Bookings Welcome: Children are welcome to book for multiple days, and siblings are more than welcome! Please note that my website platform only allows one booking per transaction, so you will need to complete a separate transaction for each child and/or booking day. Thank you for your understanding!
